Day at the museum

We went to Impression 5 science museum today. Grandma Reusser took Lisa and I plus all the kids. Thanks Grandma!!

Trying to get them to hold still inside the mouth to get a decent picture turned out to be impossible!

It's amazing how much Grace and Reese look and act alike. They both were glued to the water table and came away soaked (dispite the smocks). They also both kept drinking the water out of the table. I didn't read the rules but I was pretty sure they weren't supposed to do that :)

Besides the water table, the big hit with the kids was the bubble table. The kids were already wet so why not get a little soapy too?!! After I-5 we headed to McDonald's for lunch. I think I've eaten enough McDonald's to last a lifetime. I'll be thankful for the day when the kids are too big for the McDonald's playland so that maybe we can take them out to eat somewhere else.
Claire and Annabelle did what they do best... hang out!

Is it summer yet?!?!

I had the boys try on their swim suits today just to see if I needed to keep an eye out for new ones this year. Not my brightest idea ever... it's 55 degrees out and both boys refuse to take off their swim suits!

Grandma Gheen visited this weekend and we had a great time. The boys gave her a show singing their new favorite song "International Harvester". Not bad for a couple of city boys.

Drew had a soccer game on Saturday. I don't think any of us were quite prepared for the windy weather, temp in the mid-40s. We froze and poor Drew was simply miserable out on the field! Claire was probably the warmest of us all. She was bundled in a snow suit and cozy in her Mai Tai carrier. Drew's shinning moment was near the end of the game when he dribbled the ball down the length of the field. The crowd was cheering so loud that he forgot about the ball in favor of smiling and waving to the crowd.

On Sunday afternoon we went to Nate and Lisa's since my brother Dave and his wife Leah were in town. It was great to see everyone (including my nephew Jacob who I don't get to see as often as I'd like). It is a treat to see the cousins playing together. Reese ate his weight in pizza and then was asking for more on the car ride home. I have no idea where he stores all that food!

Claire is almost 16 weeks old. Time has flown by! She is still a very sweet tempered girl. She loves to sleep and smile and seems to go with the flow of our family very well.

Today is soccer practice (temp is still only in the 50's). I'm going to have to bundle up the kids again. Tonight I get to go celebrate my friend Kim's birthday with all the gals from play group. I think we're all looking forward to a gal's night out. Hopefully Tom will enjoy a "boys night in" with Drew and Reese :)

Kindergarten Roundup

Drew, Tom and I went to Kindergarten Roundup today. I can't believe Drew is old enough to start heading off to school in the fall! He was so excited to go and did a great job. They separated the kids from the parents, keeping the kids in the classrooms to meet the teachers. Tom and I went to a meeting to meet with the school principle. Afterwards we took Drew out to lunch so he could tell us all about "school". I think he'll be excited this fall when he gets to go daily.

The weather's been better here the last couple of days. We've been able to go outside some and the sunshine just puts everyone in a better mood. Claire does well but she's still not sure what to think when the wind hits her face. Speaking of Claire, she's waking up from her nap so I've gotta run.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!!

Drew's soccer game was rained out on Saturday. He was so disappointed but we ended up going to McDonald's to play. Ellie & Gracie came too along with Uncle Nate, Grandpa & Grandma and Aunt Michelle. It was like a family reunion at McD's.
It's been rainy and cold. We're tired of the indoors and ready to take the kids out and let them run their little hearts out! Today was my nephew Jacob's 1st birthday party at Cesar Land. The boys had fun even though the place was unbelievably crowded. Jacob is adorable and really enjoyed his cake! I wish I had remembered to take the camera... This is Jacob but it's several months old, taken at Christmas when I was still pregnant with Claire.

It's been a while

It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to sit down with the computer. We enjoyed a few days of nice weather and were able to take the kids outside. Now... it's turning cold again and Tom tells me there's even a chance of snow tonight. Most of the time we love living in Michigan but right about now we're wishing for some good 'ole Kentucky weather!
Reese aways has funny hair when he gets up from his naps. Drew has started calling him "Shaggy" (from Scooby-Doo) and I think it fits pretty well :)

For the Final Four we went over to Nate & Lisa's. We also celebrated my mom's birthday(she turned 40 this year...again). A few people got to watch the games on Nate's awesome home theatre system, but mostly we just hung out, talked, and played with the kids.

Tom was a hit with all the kids on the indoor gym in the basement. Our friend Jaden really enjoyed telling Tom what to do and Tom seemed happy to oblige.

This is Claire (on the left) with Annabelle who is two weeks older than Claire. They have no choice but to be good friends!
Drew will have his first soccer game on Saturday. So far it's been fun watching his team practice. Their team name is the Pterodactyls but after the first practice, when the coach asked the kids what their team name was, all of the players were silent. Finally, Andrew proudly raised his hand and shouted, "ANDREW". Not quite the right answer but I was still proud of his enthusiasm. That same practice they had to stop scrimmaging so the coaches could help the goalie who had gotten his head stuck in the net. Their game on Saturday should be entertaining...

Drew's a comedian...

The boys say funny things pretty much everyday but sometimes they just crack me up like nothing else. I was changing Reese's diaper and made a comment about how he had peed quite a bit in his diaper. Drew proceeded to tell me that if he "kept peeing and peeing and peeing... then this whole world would be destroyed!" He was very serious when he was telling me and I just couldn't help but laugh!
Then later he was playing "dinosaur" and told me that there was a scary dinosaur coming into the room. He then said, "Reese, you stay here and protect the women (that being Claire and myself) while I handle this." What a hero :)

Busy Day

Yesterday I got to experience life with 4 kids... my neighbors needed someone to watch their 6 week old for the day (7:30-5:30). Thankfully the boys were wonderful yesterday! They even helped me entertain the 2 girls! Needless to say I was tired by the end of the day. My awesome husband brought home Subway so I wouldn't have to cook dinner.

Drew starts soccer this week. He's been wearing his new shin guards from dawn till dusk!
